Eagan Parks & Recreation staff works hard to provide programs to keep teens interested, engaged, and active throughout the year.
About
The Teen Planning Committee (TPC) provides a space for teens to share their voices and be directly involved in planning events made just for them. High school students from all over the Twin Cities suburbs participate in this volunteer program, making it a great opportunity to create new connections.
Events
Attend a teen event planned by the TPC. There’s no need to be a committee member to join. We understand that life can be busy, so most of our events are free with no registration required. Gather your friends and drop by. Our goal is to host at least one event per season. These events are created for teens, by teens.
Teen Sunset Party
It's a sunset party! Join us for some fun playing sand volleyball and making s'mores at the bonfire. Pack your blankets and snacks to enjoy the summer weather as we wait for sunset.
- When: Friday, July 24; 7-9 p.m.
- Where: Thomas Lake Park
- Cost: Free
Teen Clothing Swap
The Teen Planning Committee is hosting a clothing swap just for teens! Trade your gently used clothing, shoes, and other items for something new–completely free. Take what you need and leave what you don’t. No need to bring items to join.
We're also accepting donations of homecoming dresses, suits and formalwear to help make special events more accessible for everyone.
Reusable tote bags will be provided by Old National Bank while supplies last.
- When: Thursday, September 10; 5-7 p.m.
- Where: Wescott Library Meeting Room, 1340 Wescott Road, Eagan, MN
- Cost: Free
What to Expect
- Bring any clean and gently used clothing, shoes, or accessories to the check-in area

*The City of Eagan reserves the right to review and remove items from the event. Any leftover items will be donated.

Volunteer
Volunteer as your schedule allows and choose how involved you would like to be in the committee. These opportunities are limited to high school teens between the ages of 14-19. Sign up to receive messaging about opportunities as they come up.
Beginning September 1, 2026, member sign-ups will be active for one year through August 31, 2027. Members who wish to remain active in the committee must sign up for each following year.

Committee Member Roles
TPC members take on a number of roles throughout the year based on availability and interests.
- Meetings: Monthly meetings are held in-person at City Hall and virtually. They are typically scheduled for one hour, and snacks are always provided at in-person meetings. Members help to plan events and the direction of the committee, providing feedback and updates about the latest happenings in the teen community.
- Events: Volunteer at planned committee events to help with set up or clean up. Don’t worry. You can still take part in the fun. Volunteer shifts are split to ensure that everyone has a chance to have fun. Events may occur 1-3 times per season.
- Outreach: Spread the word about the committee and promote planned events. Outreach opportunities include distributing event flyers to your high school and other local businesses, sharing digital marketing content on social media, or attending outreach events to work alongside city staff as a representative of the committee. This is a great way to build interpersonal skills, engaging with the public.
