Community Events
Volunteers are needed to work at community special events held throughout the year. These are typically one day events held during the evening or on a weekend.
Family Ice Fishing Try-It Clinic (January/February): Assist families with ice fishing tasks such as checking out poles, baiting lines, removing fish from hooks and other fishing tasks.
Family Sweetheart Dance: Assist children and their special guests with craft projects, serve light refreshments, help with event set-up and take-down.
Eagan Market Fest (Wednesdays, June – September): Volunteer for one Wednesday evening or several. Market Fest is a large community event held 15 – 17 weeks each year featuring a large farmer’s market, summer concerts, art experience area, Power of Produce Club and theme nights with value-added activities. Assist at the art experience, information booth, kid’s games and other market needs.
Big Rig Rally: Help with unique kid’s art projects, serve refreshments or greet participants upon their arrival at the Central Maintenance Facility.
Art Block: Volunteers are needed to assist with information booth, event set-up and other event needs.
Halloween Hodgepodge (last Sunday in October): Over 100 volunteers are needed to run children’s carnival games, arts & crafts, activity hosts, decorating for the event, and other tasks.
Eagan Art House Pottery Sale (November): Volunteers are needed to assist with information booth, event set-up and other event needs.

Seniors/50+
There are volunteer opportunities for senior citizens and those who enjoy working with seniors. From room and activity hosts to assisting at senior focused special events, there are many ways to give back to the community.
Senior Special Events: Volunteer and help support Eagan’s senior outreach by serving lunch and hospitality event tasks such as greeting, event set-up and clean-up duties. Events include:
- Senior Volunteer Gala (April)
- Senior Potluck on the Patio (July)
- Senior Corn Feed (August)
- Senior Expo (October)
- High Tea (November)
- Senior Holiday Luncheon (December)

A dedicated bench, tree or approved park amenity provides lasting recognition of the special people and occasions in your life while supporting the parks for all to enjoy.
Eagan Parks & Recreation strives to provide opportunities for all individuals to access our activities and facilities. Through the Fee Options program, the City assists participants with registration fees, if needed. Contributions to the Fee Options program ensure that all individuals can participate in activities. Cash donations can also be made to specific activities, events or facilities to enhance the user experience.
