Resident Resources

General Information

This page connects residents with practical tools, programs, and guidance to support the Eagan Climate Action Plan. Whether you’re looking to save energy, reduce waste, explore sustainable transportation, or get involved locally, you’ll find resources here to help make everyday choices that move Eagan toward a healthier, more resilient future.

Eagan's Climate Action Goals

  • Reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 55% by 2035
  • Achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050

Transportation Resources

Eagan residents can help lower greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the transportation sector in the following ways:

  • Walk, bike, e-bike, or take public transportation for short trips.
  • Consider alternatives to personal vehicles like public transportation and e-bikes.
  • Carpool or telecommute when possible.
  • If you do own a vehicle, maintain proper tire pressure and keep your vehicle well-tuned.
  • Avoid idling, as doing so for more than 10 seconds uses more fuel and produces more emissions than restarting your engine.
  • Drive an EV or fuel-efficient vehicle, visit Clean Energy Resource Teams EV guide for information and resources.
  • Replace gas-powered equipment and yard tools with electric alternatives. Check out rebates from Dakota Electric and Xcel Energy.

Visit Minnesota Valley Transit Authority (MVTA) or METRO Transit for transit maps and schedules, and MVTA Connect  for on-demand options in the south metro.
