What is Postural Alignment Training?

A number of our trainers specialize in Posture Alignment Training (P.A.T.), which is based on balance, movement, and correct stimulus. To be effective and truly functional, our bodies require the bones to correctly respond to what our muscles tell them to do. The sequential movements devised with P.A.T. encourage the body to move and function optimally. The focus is to work from the inside out, promoting structural strength and improving overall health.

Benefits include:

  • Addresses a variety of conditions causing muscle imbalances, joint dysfunctions, pain, weakness or instability
  • Prevents costly medical procedures
  • Restores proper muscle function and joint mobility
  • Improves overall strength, fitness and athleticism by restoring muscle balance

Sidney Rivera

Sidney’s mission is to educate people that the human body must function in three planes of movement to be most effective and efficient, and when you have acquired balance to these three planes of movement, you will unlock your potential to achieve any fitness goal and prevent non-contact injuries and chronic overuse pain syndromes.

Sidney graduated from the University of Minnesota with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and has been a personal trainer certified by the American Council on Exercise since 2000. He has earned a doctorate in physical therapy from the University of St. Catherine and is focused on sport performance, injury prevention, and rehabilitation. He looks forward to not only helping clients with common ailments like backache, neck pain, shoulder pain, knee pain, hip pain, plantar fasciitis, but also hopefully preventing future joint replacements and back surgeries. For most of his childhood, Alex grew up playing sports. When he got to college he realized his passion was for human performance. While studying for his degree and training for sports, Alex began to recognize a pattern: habits are conducive to not only success, but to our wellbeing. As we choose our habits to optimize movement, those same habits are synonymously optimizing health. Humans are intended to move often and pain free.

His goal is to educate and encourage others about the benefits of having an intentional movement practice.
