On December 18, 2021, at 6:56 pm, Eagan officers responded to a report of a victim suffering from a gunshot in the 1900 block of Silver Bell Rd. Early indications are the suspect left in a vehicle, crashed nearby and fled on foot. Officers located the suspect and recovered a weapon. The victim was transported to the hospital and his condition is unknown.
Eagan detectives and crime scene personnel are actively processing the crime scene and interviewing witnesses. This is an active open investigation. At this time, we do not believe there is a threat to the public.
Update - December 19, 2021 - 5:00 pm
The victim from this incident has been identified as Faisal A. Abukar, age 33, of Eagan, and we were advised by the medical examiner’s office that he was pronounced dead earlier today. Again, we do not believe there is a threat to the public, but we are asking anyone with information about this incident to contact the Eagan Police Department at (651) 675-5700.
