Lake Cleanups

Organize a lake clean-up. Interested in cleaning trash from a lake? We can support organizing or participating in an event. Lake Monitoring

Measure lake water quality. Each year, many residents expand our water quality programs while learning about seasonal variations in water quality and the effects of lake pollution. Our residents are participants of Minnesota's Volunteer Water Monitoring Program, which is coordinated by the Pollution Control Agency. Storm Drain Labeling

Help prevent stormwater pollution. You can spread the message "Keep Pollutants Out, Drains to Lake" by attaching curb markers near street storm drains. Volunteers can also distribute door hangers in neighborhoods to remind people about the connection between land use and healthy lakes and wetlands. We provide all necessary supplies. Wetland Monitoring

Track wetland health. You can participate in Dakota County's Wetland Health Evaluation Program. Our volunteer team samples and evaluates the quality of insect and plant life.
