Eagan Forward Successes

It is exciting to see the projects and efforts that have happened since the launch of Eagan Forward. From updated amenities to welcome kits to a new City logo, the results of Eagan Forward are popping up all over the community.

Of the many successes, a few that are especially impactful are:

Nature Play Area at Patrick Eagan Park

Eagan residents told us they wanted a place for their kids to climb trees and enjoy the great outdoors. This newest feature of Eagan's park system gives kids a chance to dig for dinosaur eggs in the big sandbox, fly high on a zip line, or use their imagination as they leap from tree stumps.

Patrick Eagan Park is located at 3995 Lexington Ave South.

Welcome to Eagan Totes

Thanks to the vision of our Welcoming and Inclusive Community Study Action Team, hand-sewn welcome totes are offered to Eagan's newest residents. In the bags, you will find information about the community and a handwritten note from a fellow citizen, personally welcoming you to our wonderful community.

Updates to the 2040 Comprehensive Guide Plan

Eagan Forward comes alive in the latest update to the Comprehensive Guide Plan. The Comprehensive Plan serves as a guide for Eagan’s future growth, development, and redevelopment. From concepts like urban villages to expanded sections on walking and biking, the Eagan Forward strategies are moving forward as we plan for 2040 and beyond.

What will the future of Eagan be?

What do we want the next generation—our children and grandchildren—to know about us or appreciate about the legacy we left in the community?

To answer these questions, we have launched a community visioning exercise called Eagan Forward.

Eagan Forward was initiated to create an inclusive, candid process to give Eagan an opportunity to address its challenges, engage new leaders, assess the trends impacting the region, and identify a new vision for the area’s current and future residents.

In 2016, the Eagan Forward plan, a vision for Eagan's next 20 years, was rolled out to the community. The entire community was tasked with executing the strategies outlined in the Eagan Forward plan. Eight community Study Action Teams, along with the City, put these strategies into action. After 18 months, the study action teams concluded their formal work as they launched countless ideas into action!
