The City of Eagan continues to participate in the Government Finance Officer Association’s Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting program. The program was established in 1945 to encourage and assist state and local governments to go beyond the minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting principles and provide the reader of the financial reports a higher level of financial information and transparency.
To receive the Certificate of Achievement award, the City’s financial report must be submitted to the program by June 30thfollowing the end of the fiscal year. The financial report is thoroughly evaluated by other government finance professionals based on parameters established by the GFOA organization.
The City of Eagan believes the 2021 Comprehensive Financial Report will receive the certificate for the 37th time.
