The City of Eagan has launched a new Citizen Support Center providing answers online to commonly asked questions and allowing residents and businesses to make service requests and track the status of those requests at any time.
Cash and food donations equal to nearly 36,000 pounds of food were donated by residents at a record number of National Night Out parties, August 3rd, as Eagan begins to close in on its 150th Anniversary goal of collecting 300,000 pounds for local food shelves.
The Eagan City Council praised the work of City staff in developing a proposed $27.7 million 2011 general fund budget. The preliminary budget, approved September 7, holds the line with zero dollars for wage increases and a decrease in staffing to continue service delivery in light of current economic realities. In fact, the proposed 0.55% increase to the general fund is lower than the rate of inflation.
City Calls for Time Capsule Donations The term “time capsule” didn’t exist until 1937, but Eagan has one in honor of its 150th year. Now it needs some items symbolizing what life is like in Eagan in 2010. The time capsule will soon be placed in the floor of the new Fire Safety Center, currently under construction. Hurry. Donate an item today and leave a surprise for future generations when the time capsule is opened 50 years from now, on the occasion of Eagan’s bicentennial in 2060.
